In addition to last year's winner Luca Paolini, Acqua & Sapone jersey, confirmed the presence of teammate Stefano Garzelli, of Gasparotto (Lampre NGC), then Pozzato and Ignatiev (Katusha), Soler, Cummings and Froome (Barloworld) Rebellin (Diquigiovanni-Androni), Di Luca and Petacchi (LPR Farnese).

But tomorrow the Trofeo Laigueglia will shine above all thanks to the white jersey and iridescent World Champion Alessandro Ballan.

Everything is then ready for the official start tomorrow morning at Laigueglia at 10.50. The riders will travel a path of 176km distributed partly along the Ligurian coast, and partly inland, where they will be graded Pass Balestrino, Pass and Cima Ginestro Paravenna. You will arrive at around 15.oo or so, in Via Aurelia, near Laigueglia. The race will be broadcast delayed on Rai Tre and at 15:45 on Rai Sport Più at 20.00, with commentary by Francis Pancani and technical comments of Silvio Martinello.

Barloworld also breaks the ice and hits the first victory of the season thanks to the South African Robert Hunter won the 4th stage of the Tour of the Mediterranean, Gréasque - Bouc-Bel-Air of 135 km. La gara si è conclusa con una strepitosa vittoria di Alessandro Petacchi, vincendo così la competizione per ben 5 volte consecutive. Al termine di una lunga volata pilotata dai compagni di squadra della Lpe Farnese, il 35enne sprinter spezzino si è imposto davanti al 21enne debuttante Jacopo Guarnieri ed al sudafricano Robert Hunter.
La corsa è stata caratterizzata da una fuga di 95 chilometri di Giovanni Visconti (Isd) e del compagno di squadra Andry Grivko. I due hanno had a maximum advantage of 6'38''. Grivko dropped when he missed the final three laps of the circuit Donoratico. Visconti was taken by the group after a tour, 20 km from the end.

BEGINS TODAY WITH THE XIV GP


Today, February 7, 2009 racing season starts for Luke Zanasca that participate in the XIV GP Etruscan Coast, I ° Memorial Sauro Bettini.
